Stability: Day 2

Continuing to be glad for stability. Fluids are coming off while blood pressures remain good. While this is fine, Nicole and I are having trouble relaxing because we know this is only a temporary state before we take a big step either one way or another. Tomorrow morning the doctors will do a chest exploration to determine the quality of Evie's heart function. What they find will determine what happens next. Our options could be either a third surgery or to begin to attempt to wean her off ECMO--depending on the doctors assessment. Tomorrow's exploration will be an incredibly important event.

To our support team back at the park: perhaps our next visitors could bring me a few pairs of clean socks (T-shirts and underwear are still doing okay).

Know that the prayer chain has continued on to San Francisco. I am Jolene's sister and Richard's sister-in-law and I have just returned from a two week visit with them and followed your babies progress along with their family. We all here pray for God's blessings and loving protection for you both and your beautiful Daughter.

Grand Auntie Neva still on prayer watch duty! Faith is the evidence of things hoped for. I hear hope in your message. Therefore, faith. God is answering.

We continue to pray for all three of you. Hopefully tomorrow will yield positive results and Evie can start getting weaned off of the ECMO machine. We'll keep our prayers constant and our fingers crossed!

Mary P. will be there in the morning with socks, and your clothes. Give her any dirty clothes to bring back. We're thankful for uneventful days.

Matt and Nicole,
We're thankful to hear you two have had a chance to "catch your breath" just a bit, and for signs of improvement for Evie. You're thought of often, and continue to be in our prayers many times each day. Praying with you for tomorrow's assessment, as well.

We are so glad to hear of the good news, and will continue to keep all of you in our prayers as Evie goes through this exploration process. Hopefully she will be able to come off that machine soon!

We send lots of hugs down your way, also.

We have been so grateful to our Lord Jesus that Evie's blood pressure has been stabilized on minimum dosage of drugs and fluid has been taken off, so she is getting her coloring back. We are praying hard to day for a good report on the exploratory. It is hard to be away from you Matt and Nicole and our beautiful granddaughter. But know we are hopeful and believe God is going to work a miracle in her life.
We are so thankful for all the prayers from everyone for our family.

Stay strong. Stay positive. Keep the faith.

Love, Grandma G.
